Your host: I’m Coco—a floral artist with a Fine Arts background. I love creating immersive experiences that fuse my passion for botanical art with social gatherings. Earlier this September, under my events brand, Art as Experience, I directed a large-scale art + dining experience called Food & Form. 90 participants attended, featuring a collaborative element that involved our guests adorning the “food models” with over 500 hand-selected flowers straight from the farm. My goal is to let the beauty and mystique of nature shine through in every event and to have guests interact with botany through an artistic lens in immersive and curated spaces. I strive to fuse art and the natural world and I have a passion for bringing people together.

I have some questions though…

  • Will the cheese be labeled? But of course! We’ll have a Serve Safe certified individual who will be putting labels next to all of the food items!

  • Where is Mill 1? in the Mill District of Holyoke. Right down the road from De La Luz (Former Gate Way City Arts).

  • Will I be comfortable if I come on my own? Absolutely honey! There’s lots of ways to connect with folks and ultimately this is what the event is all about, connecting with like-minded, creative types. Engage through music and movement, through delightful tastings and beautiful botanical-art structures and visual artists with botanical themes. There will be lots of talking points throughout the evening and ways to mingle!

  • What’s the event space like? It’s held at Mill 1 event space. Picture a rustic mill building with exposed brick, modern light fixtures, bar space and large studio windows. They have a contemporary-industrial feel to the space.

  • How will I know what I can eat and what is a sculpture? All cheeses, charcuteries and food items will be laid out on banana leaves to distinguish what is for snacking. Our event greeter will also make this clear when you walk in!

  • I’m a vegan/vegetarian, can I still attend? Of course! Options will be limited but there will be tastings for you as well. We want you there!

  • Is there a dress code? It’s always better when we come together to look our best! Let’s strive for creative elegance. Extra Points if you dress as your favorite flower!
